I, like many girls, am on the hunt for the perfect….man? Job? House?
Pillar box, fire engine, blood red, ruby – why do all these shades look amazing in the flesh but just not on me?
This lipstick, S502, was one of my encounters in the quest to find `the One’ and although the colour wasn’t my happy-ever-after, I just HAD to blog about our time together.
Why is this one so special?
Okay, the shade was slightly warmer than I wanted but the texture, the texture! Unbelievably smooooth and somewhat padded, it really gave my a great even finish, even on MY crispy, dry lips!
Ideal for instant gratification seekers, my lips looked velvety soft when applied straight from the bullet.
What’s in it?
The difference maker is the teeeeeny tiny heart of boosting serum that runs through the middle of the lipstick.
The serum contains Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid in it to evenly coat and smooth your lips.
Both Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid are naturally found in the body and are commonly used in anti-wrinkle and other plumping products.
Normally, I have to undergo a whole routine of buffing and preparing my lips before I apply lipstick, but this is great for girls on the go. A quick swipe and you’re done.
The finish itself is a shiny satin, but the range comes in lots of different colours – I have it in a bold coral and a glossy baby pink too.
Scent? A bit artificial – like what you’d imagine vanilla moisturising cream to smell like. Dreamy, but a bit sickly after a while.
S502 is certainly a statement colour, it lasts long enough – but the main feature is the moisturising and voluminousness (which is apparently a word according to my spellcheck?)
Like I said, it feels like it pads out your lips – not a ridiculous trout pout, but a natural cushioned boost.
Despite its flaws, it’s my current go-to for a red power lip. I know the colour’s not perfect for me but 1) I just can’t resist the formulation and 2) I haven’t found anything better yet. Omg, it’s actually my lipstick friend-with-benefits! Don’t care if I get a reputation, I plan to get around ALL the colours in the range….
How many lipsticks have you been through to find ‘The One’?
Has anyone found their #1 favourite yet? I’m still searching!
