Hi team! I thought i’d tell you about something fun I did a couple weeks back. No, no – i’m not going all “let me tell you about my life” on you, don’t worry. I’m going to tell you about a brilliant beauty experiment I took part in recently.
So the lovely team at Escentual invited 100 beauty experts (myself included, LOL) to trial 7 bottles of micellar water.
I think that’s such a great idea – choosing the right skincare is always a bit try-it-and-see and micellar water is so hard to distinguish between
A blind trial takes away all the labels, brands and clever marketing and leaves you with just the product to speak for itself.
And how cute are they? They came in adorable dropper bottles and were mysteriously labelled A-G. I trialled them across a two week period and picked my faves!
So what happened??
Who were the contenders?
– Dior Instant Cleansing Water
– Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Petals
– Caudalie Make-Up Remover Cleanser Water
– Avene Micellar Lotion Cleanser and Make-Up Remover
– La Roche-Posay Physiological Micellar Solution
– Bioderma Sensibio H20 Micelle Solution
– Vichy Purete Thermale Calming Cleansing Micellar Solution
And my favourite?
Bottle G was my favourite for its refreshing, astringent effect – it turned out to be Vichy Purete Thermale Calming Cleansing Micellar Solution. A great clean feeling sensation for my normal/combination oily skin.
My least favourite? Probably Bottle B which was Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water – it smelt too much of rose and felt a bit sticky on my skin. It might be better for drier skin though?
The Vichy Purete was actually the 2nd most popular overall, with the top spot going to the legendary Bioderma – another love of mine – you can see my review of Bioderma Sensibio here
The rest of the results are all online at Escentual.com with a cheeky little quote from yours truly! Haha!
Did you do the #MicellarBlindTrial too?
Which one was your favourite? Do you use any of these micellar waters?
