Selfridges Shopping – What Should I Buy: Nars, Laura Mercier, Ciate or Shu Uemura?

Earlier this month I attended a breakfast with Selfridges and their lovely team to discuss their Christmas plans. And BOOM. The BIG plans for the windows have now been revealed, the Christmas Emporiums have been opened and The One-And-Only giftshop is ready to be discovered! Christmas has arrived!

During the breakfast we did a little gift-card lucky dip – and holy smokes – I actually won something! I never win anything normally – raffles, scratchcards, Monopoly, rock-paper-scissors – it just doesn’t happen a lot for me.

So now, the hard part – what to spend my gift card on?? And of course – pay day is just a sniff away, I’m pretty sure I will end up coming out with more than my bank balance bargained for!

So you may be thinking “is shopping really that hard? Boo hoo for you Zoe” – but really, when faced with the choice of all the wonderful glories contained within those four walls… it’s actually a VERY tricky decision!

Do I buy stuff that I need? Do I replenish old favourites? Or do I splash out and buy myself something I wouldn’t normally buy? WHAT SHOULD I GET?

So I’ve spent sometime perusing the Selfridges website and these are the gems which have caught my eye. A tough choice non?

I literally can’t decide. What a fab collection – but what are they?!

Clockwise starting top left

Firstly, Voulez Vous Couchez Avec Moi Ce Soir? No, I’m not getting all Lady Marmalade on you, it’s the name of this amazing Nars palette. This is perfect for transforming your daytime look with a bit of va-va-voom. It also includes the famous Deep Throat blusher which I love but don’t want to carry around fullsize.

Next is a holy grail product, the Shu Uemera eyelash curler! This particular curler is actually the S-Curler from the Takashi Murakami limited edition collection. It’s designed for precision curling and it comes with a little Takashi Murakami charm as well! How cute is that?!

The Laura Mercier Colour-To-Go Portable Palette for Eyes, Cheeks and Lips is the ultimate, multi-tasking, all-rounder, cover all the bases, everything you need palette. It’s got four eyeshadows, blusher and bronzer to contour – plus there’s black to line the eyes, brown to enhance my brows and white to highlight! Add a lipgloss and you’ve got the full works for any handbag essential.

And finally – a little touch of Christmas – it’s the Ciate Mini Manicure Advent Calendar! Yup, you guessed it, 30 days of secret shades – you could have a different colour each day! It also includes 3 exclusive Paint Pot shades which aren’t available anywhere else… This just makes me want it even more! Do you find yourself drawn to limited edition and exclusives too?

So that’s my final four – what do you think? It was so hard to narrow it down! Which would you choose?

Or am I missing a trick with something else  –  what’s missing from this shortlist? What will you be getting your pay day paws on?!

Have you experienced Destination Christmas at Selfridges yet? If you haven’t you NEED to go see it – the windows are insane-amazing.

Happy Pay Day Purchasing to all!

I have never been to London round November/December when everything Xmassy comes out, but I am soon to have a fortnight off work so plan to go get some xmas shopping done. I never know where to start in selfridges, I just end up in a zombie like state repeating "its sooo pretty!" to myself over and over. ha ha. I personally am a sucker for a good palette and the NARS ones have been calling to me for years. Have fun spending your gift card. 🙂 xxxx

My vote would go to the Laura Mercier palette as it covers a bit of everything 🙂 Becky @ The Little Blog of Beauty
