There comes a time in eternity when history fashions itself a revolution. This age, my friends, is the age of the evolving lipstick! From bullet to wand to stick, lipstick formats are constantly evolving and my new favourite? It’s the crayon.
Now Clinique werent exactly the first to bring this out but I’d say that the reams of lip crayons available in the beauty aisle now are largely a product of “chubby stick feverrrr”.
And today’s review is one of them! The well named Sexy Mother Pucker gloss stick by Soap & Glory.
First of all – 10/10 for the name. Nice one Soap&Glory. I love a good pun.
This Mother Pucker crayon is apparently a ‘push up bra for your lips’ – firstly, I’m not sure how many mouths out there are drooping and saggy -should it not be a “boob job for your lips”?!?! …yeah, you’re right, i’ll just stick to what i’m good at shall I?
This lip crayon gives a sheer, light coverage of supple shine and colour. It’s apparently all down to its GLOSS-FIX™ FINISH and ULTIMELT™ Lip Shine & Shaping Technology …….. but fancy PRETEND-SCIENTIFIC TERMS™ aside – it really does do the job.
And the beauty is that it volumises without that tingle which the original Mother lip plumpers have. You know, that love-it-or-hate-it tingle which lets you know it’s working but eventually starts to burn a bit!
This colour is Nudist, a perfect pink/beige for a ‘my lips are naturally this colour‘ colour. I wear it during the day to bring a bit of a healthy glow to my otherwise dull looking lips.
It’s also a good companion for smokey evening eyes when you still want some colour on your lips without detracting from your eye makeup.
It’s RRP is £8 but I got it when there was a £2-off deal. It’s also currently on a 3 for 2 at Boots!
Lipglosses really are a quick and easy way to satisfy that “i want to buy something” feeling without breaking the bank, and let’s be honest – you can never have enough lipglosses……. right?
What other beauty items can you never have enough of? For me, it’s kirby grips, hair ties, lipglosses and eyeliners!
