Dreaming of Summer: Model’s Own Indian Ocean Nail Polish

It’s sunny, it’s glorious, it’s not really that warm but
HEY. In my mind, summer is well on it’s way!! And with that thought, I’m dreaming
of days spent on a sun-lounger, ripples in the pool, the sound of surf on the
sand… What other way to channel this through my personal being than with beachy
and mermaid makeup?

This week, I already released a tutorial about faking thebronze with the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick (which I’m also giving away!)  – and today,
we’re moving away from the face and hair. The destination? The hands! The gateway to making sandcastles
and holding Mr Whippys, beautiful hands are just as important when it comes to summer

Today’s nails are just that – a beautiful mermaid-meets-swimming-pool
shade, it’s the Indian Ocean nail polish from the Model’s Own Beetlejuice

Isn’t it just sublime? Not quite blue, not quite pink pearl. Either way, it’s a serious summer colour which will look SHEET HOT with a tan.

Alternatively, if you’re going for a pale and interesting vibe, Indian Ocean will also complement pastel hair and pale skins with an ethereal glow.

Does it come out like it does on the bottle? Read on.

Application Notes.

Two coats gives you the shade you see but another coat would amp up the colour a little more. One coat would make
a good pearlised topcoat
on another colour, or even a nod to the sheer nail
coming up on the market.

Not sure how I feel about sheer nail polish.
Seems kinda lazy to me – but also, given my nail painting skills – it might
also be quite forgiving!

Personally, I’m a two coats or more kinda gal when it comes
to light polishes. Mainly because I always frig up the first coats, but also
because I like the intense gel effect it gives.

I bought this shade as part of the 50% off Model’s Own offer but it’s normally £5 – you can see the rest of my Model’s Own Nail Polish haul here!

So I’m rocking Indian Ocean on my nails today – and all I
need…. is  a tan! Come on Mr Sunshine –
where are you?!

What does this colour remind you of? And what are your
thoughts on sheer nail polish?! Lazy or genius? Or both!?

The colour reminds me of placing a seashell right next to the sun and seeing it glow, also I think that sheer polishes are genius. They create an effortless look but still look interesting enough to buy.(Maybe I am just saying that because I am Lazy!)

I love this shade, it's so pretty! It's funny because just the other day my boyfriend and I were at the garage looking at new cars, and he liked one but didn't like the colour. I said 'it's just like those shiny two tone kind of nail polishes' because it was green/purple and shiny. This kind of nail polish is exactly what I was talking about and I love it haha. It's very mermaidy indeed, I'll have to be going for pale and interesting because the sun is not a fan of my milk bottle skin! xxx

Hehe, I guess I can understand why your boyfriend didn't want to drive around in a mermaid colour car! I love it too!
