Spend To Save? It’s Time To Shop! Superdrug 5th Birthday Deals

When it comes to shopping for beauty products, I’m not fussy. Being an accountant, I tend to go with wherever has the best deal or offer and today’s post is no different.

In celebration of the 5th birthday of the SuperDrug Health and Beauty card, Superdrug have got a huge 5th Birthday promotion going on and they’ve kindly awarded me with some points to spend on beauty essentials.
Although I’ve been a loyal Boots Advantage card holder for practically a decade, what I love about the Superdrug card is that you can actually use the points to PART-pay for something, unlike Boots where you have to buy the whole transaction with points. I also like the fact that my health and beauty card has a mirror on it – what can I say, I love a gimmick!

The 5th birthday Health and beauty card promotion is going on until the end of the month but with so many deals, there’s really something for everyone- here’s exactly what I’ll be spending my points on!

First of all – something I neeeeed.
Batiste Dry Shampoo. An absolute beauty staple for me, for almost a decade and it’s on a buy 1 get one half price deal. YAAAAS. Time to stock up.

I don’t know about you, but I get through dry shampoo so quickly – it’s not like I don’t wash my hair but it’s just so useful! Not only does it mop up my oily roots but also to give my hair some more grip and texture when it’s freshly washed. I love the XXL Dry Shampoo, it really adds some serious body to my limp hair.

Did you know Batiste also has a styling range? I have to say, the Batiste styling range is actually really good. I recommend the Shield My Locks heat spray – finally, a heat protection spray in an aerosol! I find that water sprays are so hard to spread through the hair.

I also really rate the Oomph My Locks boosting spray. It’s basically the XXL Dry Shampoo, without the talc. SO GOOD (but not for fine hair, soz)

And then, something I WANT!

This Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette has been top of my lust list for ages – it sits so nicely in your hand and you don’t have to turn the bathroom sink into a beige bloodbath when washing your brushes. Superdrug are currently doing 10% off RealTechniques. Errrrrr spend to save?

Look at the teeny tiny crosses and dots – they’re the perfect texture for cleaning any size of brush. You can use it with the cleansing gel provided, but I also like to pour a couple drops of B Brush Cleanser into the palette and then dry with a cotton pad.

Beauty Essentials

If eyes are the windows to the soul then consider your eyebrows as some serious window FRAMES for them. I’ve been a huge brow pen experimenter, but two of the products that I keep going back to are the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara and the Maybelline Brow Satin pencil – a double ended stick which has powder on one end and a waxy liner on the other to draw on some super hi-def eyebrows.

The brow gel is excellent at making it all look a bit more ‘real’ (well, as real as drawn on eyebrows are.) The good news is that it’s 2 for £10 on Maybelline at Superdrug. HOW CONVENIENT.

I’m helping out a friend at a wedding this summer, so looking to improve my kit. What could be more useful than this incredible Makeup Revolution 32 eyeshadow palette –  yup 32 eyeshadows and it’s now only £8!

Finally – more important stuff – the eyelash glue. It’s currently buy one get one half price on selected Eylure products and eyelash glue is one of the things I always lose!

Eyelash glue, hair bands and kirby grips – I buy loads but they always disappear. What is that about? Time to stock up me thinks… thanks Superdrug! And HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY.

What are YOUR beauty essentials? Do you constantly lose glue and hair bands too?
