Keynote: EFGAM Global Investment Summit 2022

In January, I had the privilege of speaking at the EFGAM Global Investment Summit, an exclusive gathering of financial leaders, investors, and industry pioneers. Hosted by EFG Asset Management (now New Capital), this summit brings together some of the brightest minds in global finance to explore the forces shaping the future—ranging from macroeconomic trends to technological advancements and, increasingly, the role of sustainability in long-term value creation. It was all impeccably run, live-streamed across the world with fantastic production – check out this shot of me looking like I’m on the news!

With a highly curated audience of institutional investors, wealth managers, and corporate decision-makers, this was a really interesting opportunity to challenge conventional (and corporate) thinking about sustainability. In my talk, I posed a critical question: What if sustainability isn’t enough anymore?

One of the key themes I explored was the growing power of consumer-led change. In an era where digital platforms give people unprecedented influence, consumer demand is shifting markets faster than ever. Today’s investors aren’t just evaluating financial performance—they’re assessing brand equity, social responsibility, and whether a company can thrive in a future where values drive value.

It was a financial audience, of course I showed them lots of charts and infographics – if you’d like a similar talk tailored to your company, just get in touch!

My closing message was simple: doing less harm is no longer enough. Whether you’re an investor, a business leader, or a consumer, the opportunity now is to go beyond damage control and create models that regenerate, restore, and innovate.

It was an honor to bring this message to the Global Investment Summit and hopefully reach some forward-thinking leaders who recognize that sustainable investment isn’t just ethical—it’s essential for long-term success.
