I’m A First-time Female Founder. Introducing Made With Flower.

Hello friends, this one’s personal.

Earlier this year, in between spreadsheet modelling, baby nap schedules and fractional CFO-ing, I quietly launched something that’s been on my mind since my own wedding day.

It’s called Made With Flower – a sustainable product business born from one of the weirdest industry secrets I’d ever come across: that many “statement” wedding cakes aren’t real.

Like so many couples, I wanted the BIG Instagrammable cake moment for my wedding. But I didn’t need 5 tiers of cake, so I used a dummy tier – polystyrene blocks iced to look like real cake. It gave me the moment, the height, the photo. But afterwards I was left with a big chunk of plastic destined for landfill (or in my case, my parents’ garage – soz guys.)

It got me thinking – why wasn’t there a better option? So, I made one!

The Made With Flower BLOOMbase is the world’s first compostable, plastic-free cake tier that transforms into wildflowers after your wedding. No waste. Just beauty that lives on. It’s for anyone who wants a statement cake that doesn’t cost the earth, literally.

Launching Made With Flower has been one of the most surreal, scary, and fulfilling things I’ve done. After years of supporting founders in this space, helping them raise and grow, I finally gave myself permission to become one.

And now I need your help.

There’s been a beautiful response from cake designers, caterers and decorators already, but I’d love to grow this further. If you know any nearly-weds, press contacts, or eco-minded retailer who might be into this, then please please do pass it on! You can also follow along at @madewithflowerco for more wildflower magic and founder adventures.

And of course, I’m still a CFO for hire. I have a few days a month left for anyone building a business that’s doing things for GOOD. If you need strategic firepower without the full-time cost, you know where to find me.
